hydros® process
Trenchless replacement and laying of new pipes
Trenchless, environmentally friendly replacement of pressure pipes
The hydros® processwas developed by KARL WEISS Technologies GmbH for the fast and economical trenchless replacement of pressure pipes (connection and supply pipes). In contrast to other replacement methods, the hydros® methodremoves the brittle old pipe material (e.g. gray cast iron or asbestos cement) from the pipe zone and the soil in an environmentally friendly manner.

Hydraulic press-pull method for trenchless pipe replacement and laying
The name hydros®stands for 'hydraulic pipe pulling and splitting method'. For replacement, the new pipe string is attached to the end of the old pipe with an adapter. Using an extremely quiet (<55 dB (A)) and vibration-free hydraulic pulling device, a new pipe made of any material is pulled into the ground at the same time as the old pipe is pressed out. This is why the hydros® methodis also referred to as the press-pull method in a single operation in DVGW regulation GW 322-1 (A) and is certified in the additional group GN 1 in accordance with DVGW GW 301.
Proven process variants are available for replacing everything from DN 13 house connections made of lead to DN 400 pipes made of asbestos cement. With additional equipment, pipes can also be laid without trenches.
