Renovation of Drinking Water Pipes

Solutions for Your Water Pipes

Rehabilitation of drinking water pipes up to DN 600 at 40 bar

Starline® methods are used for the rehabilitation of drinking water pipes showing localized signs of aging, ranging from DN 100 to DN 600 and operating pressures up to 40 bar. This permanently restores the required hygiene, hydraulic performance, and operational safety. The rehabilitated pipeline can thus be fully capitalized for economic purposes, i.e., its cost can be amortized over its useful life.

Tested Solutions for the Rehabilitation of Drinking Water Pipes

We offer tested fabric liners, adhesives, and matching technical equipment for the following applications in the rehabilitation of drinking water pipes:

  • starline®HPL-W: Rehabilitation of transmission lines
  • starline®1000: Rehabilitation of distribution lines

Hygiene is our top priority. The materials used and the finished product naturally meet all drinking water hygiene requirements. Valid test certificates are available in accordance with the UBA Coating Guidelines (KTW Recommendations) and DVGW Worksheet W 270.

By the way: These starline® processesprevent future scaling and can also be used with soft water. Maintenance and repair work do not require any special attachments or tools.

starline®1000

The starline® 1000process is used for the trenchless rehabilitation of underground drinking water supply and transmission lines using fabric-tube relining and is designed for operating pressures of up to 10 bar, which are typical in distribution systems. In fabric-tube relining, the existing pipeline is lined with an aging-resistant fabric tube. With the starline® 1000process, a mobile rehabilitation unit—independent of the rehabilitation vehicle—enables rehabilitation even in areas that are not directly accessible to trucks. The pipe’s dimensions remain unchanged. Under these conditions, the service life of the rehabilitated pipe is comparable to that of a new PE pipe. New connections can be made easily and with a watertight seal using a tapping device in a conventional manner. The fabric hose and adhesive meet the necessary hygienic requirements in accordance with the KTW recommendation/UBA guideline for drinking water compatibility and DVGW Worksheet W 270 regarding microbiological properties.
