Trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipelines

Low emissions. Efficient. Trenchless.

Trenchless strength - Innovative solutions for modern pipe rehabilitation

The renewal of pressure pipelines using the open trench method is increasingly reaching its limits, especially in urban areas, as it involves considerable emissions, traffic obstructions and noise, and also has to comply with extensive environmental protection regulations. But trenchless construction is also possible. KARL WEISS Technologies GmbH meets these challenges and has developed and patented trenchless methods for replacing and renovating pressure pipelines.
With the certified hydros® process group for the trenchless replacement of pressure pipes in the range from DN 50 to DN 300 (400) and the starline® process for the inline rehabilitation of gas, drinking water and wastewater pressure pipes for dimensions from DN 20 to DN 1200 and operating pressures of up to 30 bar, we have been successfully using trenchless alternatives/processes for more than 30 years.

starline® process

The starline® process is a rehabilitation method developed by us for the permanent trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipes weakened by ageing using fabric or pressure hose relining. Our efficient 'green' technologies are available as an alternative to the open trench method for almost all tasks in the gas, water, wastewater and industrial sectors.

With the starline® method, an adhesive-filled and seamlessly round-woven, plastic-coated fabric hose or glass fiber-reinforced inliner is reversed into the weakened old pipe or pipe at risk of breaking by means of overpressure. As a result, the hydraulic pipe cross-section is retained and operational safety is permanently, quickly and efficiently restored while the overall structural integrity is maintained.

hydros® Process

The hydros® process was developed by KARL WEISS Technologies GmbH for the fast and cost-effective trenchless replacement of pressure pipelines (service and supply lines). Unlike other renewal methods, the hydros® process environmentally removes the brittle old pipe material completely from the pipeline zone and the surrounding soil.

The name hydros® stands for “hydraulic pipe pulling and splitting process.” For replacement, the new pipe string is attached to the end of the old pipeline using an adapter. With an extremely quiet (<55 dB(A)) and vibration-free hydraulic pulling device, the new pipeline—made from any desired material—is pulled into the ground while the old pipes are simultaneously pressed out.

The company

KARL WEISS Technologies is active in the field of trenchless construction methods for pipeline construction and in the execution of infrastructure services in civil engineering as well as in classic sewer and pipeline construction.

In addition to project management - including major construction projects in civil engineering and municipal pipeline construction - we plan and finance construction projects and develop new trenchless technologies in sewer and pressure pipeline construction.
