Renovation of drinking water pipes

Water, energy and sustainable wastewater solutions for all

Rehabilitation of drinking water pipes up to DN 600 at 40 bar

For the rehabilitation of drinking water pipes with local signs of ageing, starline® processes from DN 100 to DN 600 and operating pressures of up to 40 bar are used. This permanently restores the required hygiene, hydraulics and operational safety. The rehabilitated pipe can therefore be fully capitalized economically, i.e. depreciated over its useful life.

Tested solutions for the renovation of drinking water pipes

We have tested fabric hoses, adhesives and matching technical equipment for the following areas of application in the renovation of drinking water pipes:

  • starline®HPL-W: Renovation of transport lines
  • starline®1000: Renovation of supply lines

Hygiene is our top priority. The materials used and the finished end product naturally meet all drinking water hygiene requirements. Valid test certificates are available in accordance with UBA coating guidelines (KTW recommendations) and DVGW worksheet W 270.

Incidentally, these starline® processesprevent future incrustations and can also be used with soft water. Maintenance and repair work does not require any special attachments or tools.

starline®1000

The starline®1000 process is used for the trenchless rehabilitation of underground drinking water supply and transport pipes using fabric hose relining and is designed for a normal operating pressure of up to 10 bar in the distribution system. In fabric hose relining, the old pipeline is lined with an ageing-resistant fabric hose. With the starline®1000 method, a mobile rehabilitation unit that is independent of the rehabilitation vehicle also enables rehabilitation in areas that are not directly accessible to trucks. The dimensions of the pipeline are retained. Under these conditions, the service life of the rehabilitated pipeline is comparable to that of a new PE pipeline. New connections can be easily connected using a tapping device and backflow-proof using conventional construction methods. The fabric hose and adhesive meet the necessary hygiene requirements in accordance with the KTW recommendation/UBA guideline for drinking water compatibility and DVGW worksheet W 270 with regard to microbiological properties.
