Trenchless replacement and laying of new supply lines

Efficient renewal of supply lines in cramped urban conditions

Trenchless, economical pipe renewal with the hydros® method

Our hydros® methodsoffer decisive advantages for the renewal of supply lines in urban pipeline construction. They are very cost-effective, especially in confined spaces and where pipes are densely packed. Drastic reduction of excavation work, removal of old pipes, working in the same route and vibration-free operation are further 'green' features.

Customized equipment for pipe renewal and pipe laying

Tailor-made, proven and efficient technical equipment is ready for the following applications:

hydros®PLUS: Pipe replacement
The original is known as a press-pull process for replacing pressure pipes made of brittle fracture materials.

hydros®STEEL: Pipe renewal
A special cutting and expanding head using the hydros®PLUS pulling unitis used here especially for the renewal of pipelines made of ductile materials.

hydros®STAR: Neuro installation
With an additional pilot drilling rig and, if necessary, a flushing head, this method enables new installation or replacement with a large dimensional leap.

It goes without saying that our trenchless technologies for supply lines meet all the requirements of the DVGW regulations.

hydros®PLUS: Replacing supply lines

Trenchless replacement method for supply lines in the drinking water and gas supply up to a diameter range of DN 400 (400 mm) and individual pulling sections of up to 150 m in length. These individual sections are subdivided into partial sections up to 50 m in length by means of intermediate pits for service pipes, hydrants, etc.

When using PE ring bundles, laying rates of over 100 m per day can be achieved. The complete removal of the old pipes from the ground and the vibration-free working method protect the roots of the vegetation from damage, unlike other known methods. This environmentally friendly approach was awarded the Innovation Prize for Environmental Technology by the State of Berlin. Furthermore, the trenchless replacement of asbestos cement pipes has also been tested by the BG Institute for Occupational Safety (BIA) and included in BGI 664 under the identification number BT 13. Due to the extremely low noise emissions (<55 dB(A)), the Berlin environmental authority has issued a general 24-hour exemption permit for the process.
